Doing Something to Make a Difference

Walk for Hope. People getting together to walk, raise money for research, raise awareness, promote mammograms. I was one of over one thousand participants (some were breast cancer survivors) who walked four miles in 90-something degree heat. The police and ems were there to help those who needed it and keep us safe. The fire department sprayed us with water for a cool-down at the halfway point. Various sponsors were there with cold drinks and yummies. (Thank you!) It was very exciting to be a part of something that big. Many thanks to the special people (you know who you are) who sponsored me.

Agent M and Grandma Sheila cheered us on at the one-mile mark. I walked for Jill and Rosie, who survived. I thought about Lucille and Kim Yale, who didn’t.

Special thanks from me to Banana Boat. This product has performed beyond my expectations. They’re not kidding, waterproof, sweatproof, kidproof, mommyproof. Great stuff.

Little Things Mean Alot

pink ribbonHey folks! On Sunday, June 8th I am participating in the Walk for Hope. I hope you will join me in the fight against breast cancer. Because of City of Hope, some of the most important, lifesaving advancements in treatment were and continue to be made possible.

I am walking for all the wonderful women in my life and especially for my dear cousin, a breast cancer survivor.

Please, if you can, pledge in support of my participation. Your tax-deductible contribution will go towards the important research, education and treatment programs that are essential in the fight against this disease!

You can donate online by clicking the link below. Even the smallest amount can help make a difference.

Answer to the Question of the Week

Q: Do you guys WALK everywhere?

A: We try to.

It seems silly to use the car to walk to school because we frequently walk into town and that’s further. Unless, of course, the weather is particularly unforgiving. That’s only happened 3 times (since September).

We’re lucky to live in a central location, where it is possible to walk to the train, shopping, school. Plus, I’d like to think that with what we save on gas, we could get some pizzas.
